As per instructions from the Department of Homes under CTA, two members of Tibetan Parliament in Exile (TPiE) paid visit to our school on July 8. Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies Rev. Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen and Mr. Lobsang Dakpa paid official visit as per their planning and resolutions of the 16th Tibetan Assembly. Rev. Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen gave talk on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s three commitments in His life. On this planet everyone is striving for happier life and nobody wants suffering. So, His Holiness has been a advocating for the promotion of human values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self discipline. These values He refers as secular ethics which are very much in need in today’s world. He remains committed to talk about the importance of these values with everyone he meets. His Holiness stands all out for these values. Second commitment of His Holiness is the promotion of religious harmony and understanding among the world’s major religious traditions. All major religions in the world differ in philosophy but all religions have the capacities and potential to create good human beings. He has been asking the major traditions to have respect for one another and recognize the value of each other’s traditions and work the common goodness to make the world happier and better place to live in. third commitment of His Holiness is being a Tibetan he shoulders the responsibility of preserving Tibet’s century old culture and promoting for non-violence – a culture of peace. Rev. Lopon Thupten Gyaltsen further urged the students and staff members to feel the gratitude toward His Holiness for his life long struggle for the cause of Tibetan people and because of Him, we Tibetans have got recognition across the world. We should never forget his gratitude and untiring work for the Tibetans.
Mr. Lobsang Dakpa, the second visitor from the Tibetan Parliament in Exile basically talked on importance of education in students’ lives and asked students never get indulged in activities which ruin your life and hamper the Tibetan image. While you are in the school, look for every avenue to make yourself learn and he thanked his former teachers who made him educated and responsible person in the society. He became a member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile because of his teachers and now it is your responsibility to study hard and try to live up to the expectation of His Holiness, your parents and your teachers and never let them down in every aspect. Furthermore, he said that Tibetans children in the occupied Tibet do not enjoy the facilities that Tibetan children in exile are enjoying. He says don’t waste time looking at face book rather students can spend time in finding best universities which offer your subjects which you have interest in and try to find placement in those reputed colleges after the completion of class XII examination. We can best challenge China from intellectual prospective rather than going in war with China.
